My Story of Getting Rid of Fat After Pregnancy

Let me share my story of getting rid of fat after I was pregnant with my daughter, Sarah. My family was very happy. My husband and I were longing for a baby for years. We were very excited and began to buy things and look for names. We wanted to do everything perfectly.

My mum told me to eat for two, so I ate for two. My mother-in-law told me to eat whatever, I wanted (even if it was ice-cream or chocolate), because our body knows what it needs. I took that advice as well. Actually, I liked the situation very much. At last I could eat anything. Of course, I took care of the nutrients, too. My husband, Jim, was a dear. He also took care of me and always brought me something sweet. My friend told me that it doesn’t matter if I get fat as getting rid of fat with breastfeeding is easy.

Then on a nice September day Sarah was born. A very cute baby! During the pregnancy, I put on 60lbs. A week after the delivery, I was 20lbs less ( the baby, the placenta and water). Fortunately, I could breastfeed my little one, but after 5 months I still had 30lbs plus on.

I felt depressed. My life was in ruins. I couldn’t sleep because of the baby. (She woke up 5 or 6 times every night.) I had headaches. I couldn’t do the housework properly. I was very irritable and I often had quarrels with my husband about unimportant things. I think I was even more easily tired because of my weight. That was not good for me.

I came to a decision. I couldn’t go on a diet while breastfeeding. I ate everything to get all the nutrients so my milk wasn’t affected. However, I could cut out all the really unnecessary or unhealthy foods like chips or chocolate. When Sarah was 9 months old, I stopped breastfeeding. I still had to lose 24lbs.

Loosing weight was very important for me, but I didn’t want to starve during the diet. I wanted a diet which was healthy as well. So I had to choose one carefully. I wanted not only to lose weight but to keep it off as well. I educated myself on getting rid of fat and I found a great weight loss plan surfing the internet. It is a diet plan which is for a long period, or even for a lifetime.It was a 1 year ago when I started it. Now, I’m in a much better form (lost all the fat around), I feel energetic and much healthier.
